Visual merchandising company Barthelmess has launched its latest 'Work Book', covering upcoming shop window and point-of-sale trends. The pocket-size reference book is divided into five key trends for autumn, winter and Christmas 2012/23, namely Letterpress, Gilded Wood, Wired, Wild Spirit and Tell me a story, and features colour photography throughout.
Louis Vuitton has this week opened its first Italian maison, in the iconic Etoile cinema in Rome. The three-storey flagship, designed by New York-based architect Peter Marino, houses the French luxury brand's extensive product range as well as an 18-seat open cinema that will screen short films.
Retail Trust London Ball 2012 raises over £1 million

Last night's annual Retail Trust London Ball, held at Grosvenor House, raised more than £1 million for retailers in need. The guest list included high street and online retail leading lights such as Arcadia Group owner Sir Philip Green, M&S CEO Marc Bolland, ASOS CEO Nick Robertson, Jaeger Chairman Harold Tillman, Debenhams CEO Michael Sharp, and Joseph Wan Chief Executive of Harvey Nichols. The sum raised at the retail industry’s annual fundraiser, held at Grosvenor House, came from a blend of personal pledges including £190,000 from Sir Philip Green and corporate contributions from major highstreet brands including Arcadia who donated £100,000.
Online baby products retailer Kiddicare has today (Thursday 26 January) agreed to take over the leases of 10 former Best Buy stores from Carphone Warehouse. The company, which was acquired by Morrisons in 2011, plans to invest around £15 million to convert the stores to the full Kiddicare offering.
