Argos opens pop-up at Centre:MK

British catalogue retailer Argos has opened a pop-up store at centre:mk shopping centre in Milton Keynes for the festive season. Technology means products can be supplied from local stores so that customers can order gifts, continue with their shopping and then return to pick them up within as little as an hour.

Alternatively, if customers have their hands full, are short of time or the items are too heavy to carry, they can be delivered to the customer's house or work address using the retailer's fast track delivery service.

'As a leading local employer and digital retailer we wanted to give something back to the city and its shoppers,' says Steve Carson, director of retail and customer operations at Argos. 'By combining hourly drop-offs of products from our Milton Keynes stores and online collection point functionality, this pioneering concept will enable us to be even more convenient, helping put a smile on the faces of our customers in the run up to Christmas.'

The 37 sq m store will be located at the shopping centre for 12 weeks until 15 January 2017.

Mall Solutions Europe acted on behalf of centre:mk and Argos represented itself.
