Following five years in the hub of Shoreditch and the successful launch of Boxpark Croydon in 2016, Boxpark has announced the launch of Boxpark Wembley, to open in late 2018 at Wembley Park. Whilst continuing to draw from its iconic shipping container roots, Boxpark Wembley will have a completely new and bespoke building design, making it an innovative and exciting landmark in the heart of Wembley Park.
The new development will comprise 29 units held by established and independent food operators. Boxpark Wembley will also offer a versatile programme of more than 200 community focused events throughout the year including live music, talks and workshops. These events will be supported by an expansive 2,000 capacity events space as well as an intimate and separate 300 capacity venue.
'I'm delighted to announce the opening of the third Boxpark site, Boxpark Wembley. Boxpark Wembley is located in an iconic location, on Olympic Way in Wembley Park. We look forward to working closely with Quintain, Brent Council and the other venue operators on the site, to develop a world class food, drink and entertainment destination, and possibly the best fan park in the world!' says Roger Wade, founder and CEO of Boxpark.
Gavin Elliott, chairman of BDP Manchester behind the design, adds: 'Following on from the award-winning success of Boxpark Croydon, it’s great to "get the band back together" to design another Boxpark with Roger and his team. The Boxpark Wembley scheme is a significant evolution of the F+B model we developed in Croydon, and takes our thinking to a new level. It’s also particularly exciting to be working with both Boxpark and Quintain in such an iconic, world renowned destination – to which we hope to bring our own little bit of urban cool.'
Boxpark Wembley is scheduled to open in late 2018, and will in the coming months begin the process of letting the units to an array of traders from London and across the world. Set out in a bespoke layout on Olympic Way, known to fans the world over as Wembley Way, it will create a new public space for those living in, working at and visiting Wembley Park.
