German luxury women's designer clothing company ESCADA is opening a new flagship in Chelsea, London. Located at 129 Sloane Street, the store will offer the complete ESCADA Mainline and Sports collections, including including women’s outerwear, dresses, tailoring, casualwear and accessories. The design concept for the new location was created in collaboration with interior designer Fran Hickman. Her work draws on an extensive art and design vocabulary in order to create spaces that are elegant, modern and inviting.
Design inspiration has been taken from ancient Japanese artistry, combined with the classical designs of British architect and furniture designer Robsjohn-Gibbings. The interior blends delicate gold wall-designs, with art-deco inspired furniture. The walls feature gold leaves cascading down, each one hand painted to give a unique ombre effect. The space will be styled with colourful objects d’art, as well as inspiring literature, to give an engaging and chic feel.
'I am delighted to be opening this new ESCADA flagship on Sloane Street, an internationally recognised and ultra-chic shopping destination in London. This is an exciting time for ESCADA on many levels, as we welcomed Niall Sloan, Global Design Director, earlier this year. Niall’s creative leadership, combined with ESCADA’s strong heritage in creating clothing that excites, positions the brand well to attract a new generation of clients,' says Iris Epple-Righi, CEO of ESCADA.
ESCADA is collaborating with the Covent Garden Academy of Flowers to create a unique flower installation and live bouquet demonstration for the store launch. The installation will last throughout November and December, and during this time customers are invited to make a donation to Women for Women in return for bespoke seasonal bouquets. ESCADA will match all proceeds, as well as making its own additional donation to support an organization that empowers women globally.
