As part of its takeover at Harrods this Christmas, Italian fashion house Dolce&Gabbana has recreated the atmosphere of an Italian street market on the forth floor. It's a story of flowers, fruit, vegetables, toys, gastronomic delicacies, dazzling colours, vivacity and enjoyment, all brought to the Knightsbridge department store for the festive season.
The market is decorated with brightly coloured lights and booths displaying accessories, ready-to-wear, toys and gift ideas, many created exclusively for Harrods. The marketplace is designed to feel as if it were in the middle of an Italian piazza full of delights to browse. Dazzling lights adorn every corner of the market: the entrance, ceiling, booths and installations inspired by the famous hand-painted Sicilian carts.
Visitors are transported into a real market suffused with the spirit of countless festivals that animate the lively towns of Southern Italy. The floor is like walking on an expanse of lemons, oranges and traditional Sicilian fans in a triumph of vibrant colours.
