John Lewis opens 50th store as part of Westfield London's expansion

John Lewis has opened the doors to its 50th store, located at the newly expanded Westfield White City development. Designed inhouse, the 21,367 store is the anchor to the £600 million Westfield expansion and will be home to the most exciting Home floor for John Lewis yet. Spanning 4,645 sq m alone, the Home department is set across two floors featuring the latest concepts, services and experiences.


Reflecting the importance of shops in the purchase decision for large ticket items, the department store will be John Lewis’s most experiential and service-led shop to date, and brings together more than 500 homeware brands across a series of inspirational room sets.

'The new shop is another step forward in giving our customers a unique and inspiring product range with our own-brand ranges and the best of brands forming an exclusive offer that can’t be found anywhere else. We are incredibly proud of our new shop, it’s the perfect place to showcase our collections.'


John Lewis White City will offer a total of 23 services and appointments can be booked through a concierge-style Experience Desk. Expert John Lewis Home Design Advisors will work through ideas with customers instore to help them find a look that suits their style and budget. 
Appointments can also be made for a partner to visit a customer's home to create a complete design scheme.


Other services include carpet colour matching; design your own rug; Sofa Studio where customers can design their own sofa or armchair; Sleep Room – an area dedicated to giving customers the best night's sleep possible; Apple Smart Home – Europe’s first fully immersive smart home experience by Apple where customers can control various smart devices in the areas from lighting to thermostats, windows and home monitoring from an iOS device; and a Demo Kitchen – a working kitchen to be used for food demonstrations and cooking masterclasses.


The department store also includes a beauty spa, three eateries and a bespoke personal fashion styling service.
