Project: N.Peal

Design: Amos and Amos
Shopfitting: Datum Contracts
Opening date: April 2013

Luxury cashmere brand N.Peal has worked closely with design studio Amos and Amos to revamp its image. Traditionally, brands employ a slightly watered down version of their corporate identity in outlet villages, as opposed to their flagship locations, but N.Peal has taken a different approach with its refurbished store at Bicester Village outlet shopping centre.

'If N.Peal was to revamp its image, this should be employed consistently across all platforms, in all locations,' says a spokesperson for Amos and Amos.

The new-look store gives a subtle nod to the classic Britishness of the brand, which launched in 1936 in London's Burlington Arcade. A soft colour palette of ivory and aqua complements the seasonal colour changes of the merchandise, often tonal in the winter, and bright for the summer collections. Display units feature soft gold polished brass, including pashmina display ladders backed with faceted mirrorwork, central display table bases topped with arabescato marble, and fret cut N.Peal lettering on a wall clad in grey marquina stone.

Over the central display tables are 30 faceted gold pendant light fittings by designer Lee Broom. The fittings give a nod to the art deco era and mirror the soft brass of the display units.

Amos and Amos is also working with N.Peal on the refurbishment of the Burlington Arcade store, which is scheduled for completion in May 2013.
