London-based architecture studio Carbon designed the first international branch for fresh food cafe Bea's of Bloomsbury. The company was briefed in 2011 to create a cupcake kiosk in Al Wahda Mall, Abu Dhabi, for the brand that also had a fully functioning production baking kitchen.

Project: Godiva, NYC

In 2010 world-renowned chocolatier Godiva embarked on a global redesign of its stores, signalling a new chapter in the history of the brand. The new concept, created by New York-based interior design firm d-ash design in collaboration with Godiva’s vice president of global store design and visual merchandising Linda Lombardi, has been rolled out to stores across China, Turkey, Europe and recently in the U.S.
The launch of the New York flagship boutique last summer marked a welcome return of the chocolatier to Fifth Avenue, which opened a store in the same location in 1972.

Project: Onitsuka Tiger

Onitsuka Tiger, the fashion lifestyle brand from ASICS, has recently collaborated with UK-based Wests Design Consultants and Barcelona-based Godel Tabora Design to create a new retail concept in Madrid’s Las Rozas Village (also home to such brands as Diesel, G-Star Raw and Burberry). The new 60 sq m concept store – the first European outlet store for the brand opened in December 2011 and is essentially designed to liquidate stock while providing an important channel to promote the Japanese brand.

Project: Tommy Hilfiger

Preppy American lifestyle brand Tommy Hilfiger has expanded its presence in London with a new store on Brompton Road in Knightsbridge. Located between high-end department stores Harrods and Harvey Nichols, the 986 sq m flagship is now the brand’s largest store in the UK and third largest in Europe. Working with design consultancy rpa:vision (a division of the rpa:group), Tommy Hilfiger has drawn on its strong East Coast heritage to create a space that has a feel of authentic, American cool.
