Harrods - The Colour Supermarket

Entitled 'The Colour Supermarket', the current window display at Harrods is part of a store-wide celebration of The Art of Colour. The department store has partnered with Pantone, the authority on colour for the design industry, to create a bespoke palette inspired by the leading colours of SS19.

From Peach Bloom, Honey Yellow and Indian Tan, to Surf Spray, Crabapple, Sloe Gin Fizz and Silver, each colour in the palette has a warming and nurturing tone that is inviting and appropriate for the winter season.

'The explosion of colour in fashion, beauty and the wider culture has been unprecedented in the last few years,' says Tiffanie Darke, editor-in-chief at Harrods. 'Call it a flight to optimism or simply a celebration of joy, but we think there’s no better way to kick off the year. Working with the Pantone Color Institute, and assembled from our buy of leading brands across our store, we have curated the Harrods x Pantone SS19 Palette. Pastels, metallics and gentler tones signal a new mood of civility and gentleness, with more earthy and natural tones signalling a desire for physical experiences, as we consciously aim to cut down on screen time.'

As part of the celebration, customers will have the opportunity to shop the bespoke Harrods x Pantone palette in the newly created ‘Colour Supermarket’ designed by Harrods creative director, Alex Wells Greco.

The Art of Colour will set the tone for what’s to come for Harrods in 2019, and is the first chapter of The Art of the Possible – a year-long story told by Harrods celebrating the art of living and all the intricacies that encompass life; from family and culture to the traditions and memories passed down through generations. The story is comprised of five chapters and is narrated by brands and experiences across the store.
