Following the unveiling of the Carnaby Christmas installation last week, you are now able to get the full experience from the comfort of your own home with the launch of a new 360° online tour exclusively available at Carnaby.co.uk.
Enter Carnaby Street and step under the world famous, iconic Welcome to Carnaby Street arch, with the choice of walking down either at street level, or 10ft high in the sky, gliding through the giant pink neon glow Christmas light installation like never before.
Users are able to choose the route they take, being able to explore this world famous destination in its entirety. After exploring the installation on Carnaby Street, take a turn into Kingly Court which is covered in thousands of sparkly Christmas lights, or visit the pretty cobbled Newburgh Street with its pink festoon lights, and make sure to visit Ganton Street to see the giant pink lightbulb installation.
The immersive 360° experience is available for free on the Carnaby website (carnaby.co.uk) and includes a live function where the user can join up with someone anywhere in the world to take the tour at the same time, sharing the experience.
Simon Quayle, Director, Shaftesbury says: “We are delighted to be able to take the Carnaby Christmas experience to the world in this digital way, and we hope that it will encourage visitors to come and see them for themselves if and when they can safely.”
The theme of the installation is Choose Love in Carnaby and is a partnership with charity partner Choose Love. The installation is a series of positive words with the hope that at least one will make you smile. The installation shares a message of love and unity. The words pay tribute to the strength and courage of Londoners and the whole of the UK, and are an encouragement of hope and kindness. Other words of empowerment include believe, heal, brave, dream, faith, together and family.
Dermot O’Leary, Choose Love ambassador says:“Each year the Choose Love shop comes to Soho giving shoppers the chance to do something beautiful for their fellow humans as winter approaches, buying things like blankets, hot meals and kids coats for refugees and displaced people across the world. I’ve loved being a part of it every year. This year it will be magical to see Choose Love in lights on Carnaby street too. It’s been a tough year for so many people so this message of solidarity, hope and connection is now needed more than ever before.”
