The retail sector is constantly evolving with new competition and technology changing the market all the time.

This survey was carried out on retail businesses of between 1 – 25 employees, asking them about the positives and negatives of everyday life of running their business.

The results revealed that although many of these small retail business owners were concerned about the affects of internet retailers slashing prices and high rental costs for their premises,  there are still many causes for optimism within the sector. It’s clear that – more than ever before – retail businesses need to be innovative and proactive in enticing customers into their stores using different marketing and advertising channels to achieve this goal.
