Lakeside, one of the UK’s most popular retail and leisure destinations, owned by property company SGS, is pleased to announce that Tommy Hilfiger has signed to open a new store at the centre.
The leading fashion name has taken on a 2,448 sq ft space, with a menswear and womenswear offering.
The store joins an exciting line-up of over 300 brands, including Apple, Zara, Mac, H&M, Hugo Boss and Superdry.
The Tommy Hilfiger deal followings a string of other new openings and lease renewals across SGS centres over recent weeks, with brands involved including Apple, Next, Tesco and River Island, amongst others. Lakeside has also welcomed some new leisure providers, including interactive adventure bar, Boom Battle Bar.
Lakeside is a leading retail and leisure destination in the South East, which typically sees around 20 million shopper visits per year. In 2019, it completed a £72m award-winning leisure extension, bringing well-known names such as Hollywood Bowl and Puttshack to the centre. The extension takes the total centre size to 1.6m sq ft.
Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, comments:
“Tommy Hilfiger is a great addition to Lakeside’s line up of premium fashion brands and one we know our visitors will be incredibly excited about.
“We are delighted to be welcoming shoppers back following the re-opening of non-essential retail this month, with social distancing measures in place, and we look forward to seeing them in the new store.
“The string of new deals signed over recent weeks is encouraging for Lakeside and for the sector more widely, after what has been an uncertain period for everyone.
“Lakeside remains prime retail and leisure space, and leading brands continue to be drawn to us. We expect to announce some further exciting deals over the coming months.”
